Our Latest Project: Mayor Mark Funkhouser of Kansas City

We are excited to announce today’s site launch for Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser. Over the past few months we’ve been working closely with the campaign staff to build a site that offers visitors a cross-section of information about Funkhouser and his positions as well as feature the campaign’s multi-media content and what Kansas Citians have to say about his fight for working class people in the city. In the coming weeks, we will also be rolling out an online marketplace for campaign gear as well as a feature we are calling “Ask Funk” where people can submit questions and the mayor will be able to easily reply and post his response to the site.
Nick, Garrett and I have had a ton of fun working on this site and have had more than a few ‘interesting’ times along the way: we’ve moved to Brooklyn, suffered a Time Warner cable outage of nearly 3 weeks, had our backup hard drives rained on, written over 2,000 lines of original code, created 4GB of backup data on Amazon S3, spent more than 105 hours in meetings/in front of our computers and exchanged 65 emails about this project mid-flight (thanks Delta) on airplanes for various trips.
Special thanks to Garrett Karol for designing the site from Chicago, the entire Funkhouser family in Kansas City and NGP, a great campaign database solution we’ve integrated with the site
